Born and raised in Alexandria, Jeff received his bachelor’s degree from LSU (1991) and his master’s degree from the United States Sports Academy in Sports Management (1992). After graduation, he spent four years in the LSU Athletic Department in the NCAA Compliance Office. Jeff has worked in the financial services business for 16 years. His expertise in the financial field include, but are not limited to, client consultation and financial management for asset accumulation and wealth preservation, as well as comprehensive financial planning.

Jeff is a registered representative with LPL Financial. LPL Financial is one of the nation's leading financial services companies and the largest independent broker/dealer (As reported by Financial Planning magazine, June 1996-2010, based on total revenue) supporting over 12,000 financial advisors nationwide. Being 100% committed to the success of the financial professionals they serve is what has helped LPL Financial become one of the leading diversified financial services organizations in the country, with headquarters in Boston, Charlotte, and San Diego.

Jeff holds the following registrations through LPL Financial: FINRA Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and Series 63 (Uniform State Securities Law License) both obtained in 1995. Others include Series 24 (General Securities Principal/Branch Manager); Series 53 (Municipal Securities Principal). Jeff also has his life/health insurance license and has completed the AAMS (Accredited Asset Management Specialist) course.

Jeff’s firm, Upton, Draughon & Bollinger has 4 locations throughout the state of Louisiana: Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Leesville & Marksville. The firm has 8 financial consultants who manage $534 million. Jeff is also part owner in UDB Insurance (an agency located in Alexandria with clients statewide).

Jeff has earned service and production awards from his firm for each of his 16 years he has been in the financial services business. Most recently in 2010, Jeff was named to LPL Financial's prestigious Chairman's Club, a status reserved for the top six percent of all advisors, based on production rankings. As a firm, Upton, Draughon & Bollinger is ranked in the top 1% of all LPL advisors.

Outside the office, Jeff is a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he serves as a Deacon,  Men's Ministry Leader, and is a member of the finance committee. He is also Past-President of Partners in Literacy of Central Louisiana and belongs to the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce. Jeff currently serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Central Louisiana and Alexandria Country Day School.

Married since 1997, Jeff and his wife, Dana have three children: Sarah, Kathryn and Elizabeth.
